What is the Kolesky-ADHD-EFA®?

The Kolesky-ADHD-EFA® is a comprehensive structured clinical instrument for assessing adult ADHD.

It includes patient and collateral source assessments with automated scoring and clinical flags, as well as a clinical decision framework, a working clinical reference, and a patient education resource.

  • How to Get Started guide. A concise onboarding guide covering setup, patient workflow, and use of the completed assessments.

The patient and collateral source assessments. A structured assessment for the patient, plus an independent one for a nominated collateral source. Both adapt to clinical context, with pre-written email templates included.

A scored summary and a full report for each. An at-a-glance scored summary with all clinical flags integrated, plus the full questionnaire responses for the medical record – for both the patient and the nominated collateral source.

The Diagnostic and Medication Decision Guide. A clinical decision support framework that structures the reasoning for adult ADHD diagnosis and management. All diagnostic and treatment decisions remain those of the treating clinician.

The GP Clinical Reference Handout. A working clinical reference for the consulting room – diagnosis, medication, prescribing pathways across all Australian states and territories, special populations and considerations, and billing.

Patient handout. A take-home guide covering adult ADHD, treatment options, lifestyle factors, and recommended patient resources, matched to the clinical pathway.

All updates during the licence period. Included at no additional charge.

  • Every named practitioner on the licence schedule must have completed the ADHD Unmasked CPD course before being added – not just the lead practitioner.

This requirement exists for clinical defensibility, not as a sales mechanism. The assessment system, scored summaries, and Decision Guide are built to sit inside the clinical reasoning framework taught in the course. A clinician interpreting the completed assessments without that framework is using the system outside the conditions it was built for, which may weaken the defensibility of the assessment if a clinical outcome is ever reviewed.

The ADHD Unmasked course is $795 per participant and delivers 6 CPD hours (ACRRM accreditation granted, RACGP and ACNEM CPD accreditation in progress).

What this looks like in your practice

1.

The patient books an appointment. Reception sends them and the nominated collateral source their assessment links.

2.

The patient pays Kolesky Medical Education directly. No invoicing, reconciliation, or compliance overhead at your end.

3.

The completed assessments land in your nominated practice email, ready to file in the patient record.

4.

You see the patient for the review consult. The history-taking is largely completed by the assessment, leaving the consult for the clinical reasoning that actually matters. The diagnosis and treatment decisions remain yours.

5.

The patient leaves with their handout and a treatment plan, including scripts if indicated.

A workspace with documents, a laptop showing financial data, a notebook with notes on investment and practice, a calculator, a coffee cup, a potted plant, and sticky notes with handwriting.

Practice viability

For many practices, the licence cost can be recovered quickly once ADHD assessment becomes a structured part of workflow rather than an ad hoc addition squeezed into an already overloaded day.

At standard bulk-billing rates, a solo GP licence is generally recovered within approximately two patient consultations. A small-practice licence (up to five GPs) is generally recovered within approximately five consultations across the practice. Privately billed practices recover the cost more quickly.

The real value, however, is having a structured, defensible, time-realistic adult ADHD assessment system already in front of you when the patient walks into the room.

How it works

Two ways to start: apply directly through the form below, or book a 20-minute discovery call to talk through it first. Both lead to the same place.

1. Complete the ADHD Unmasked CPD course

On completion, you receive your CPD certificate and a licensing eligibility code.

2. Apply for a Practitioner Licence and pay

A short form captures your practice details, tier, named practitioners, AHPRA registrations, and licensing eligibility code. Payment is taken at this stage.

3. AHPRA verification

We verify each named practitioner’s registration. Unverified practitioners are excluded from the schedule, the licence is adjusted to the correct tier, and any difference is refunded. If no practitioners can be verified, the application is refunded in full.

4. Sign the licence agreement

Once AHPRA is verified, the licence agreement is sent for electronic signature, usually within two business days.

5. Access provisioned

Once the agreement is signed, the Kolesky-ADHD-EFA® assessment forms are personalised to your practice and provisioned for use. Scored summaries and detailed reports are delivered to your nominated practice email after each submission.

Frequently asked questions

  • Yes. Additional practitioners can be added at any time at the pro rata tier difference. They must have completed the ADHD Unmasked course before being added.

  • The licence remains with the practice. You can replace the departing practitioner on the licence schedule with another AHPRA-registered, course-completed practitioner.

  • No. The licence covers named prescribing practitioners only – those who will actually be using the assessment system clinically.

  • Yes – arguably more so. Without a structured assessment tool, an adult ADHD work-up can take longer, may carry more clinical risk, and competes with short consults for time. The Kolesky-ADHD-EFA® is designed to make the work defensible, structured, and time-realistic – so a bulk-billing practice is better placed to offer adult ADHD assessment instead of turning patients away or sending them down the road to a practice that does.

  • Hosted on JotForm and managed in accordance with Australian Privacy Principles requirements. Scored summaries and detailed reports are emailed to your nominated practice address. Patient clinical data is not used for any purpose outside the assessment workflow.

  • The licence is annual and non-refundable once issued.

  • Updates are released as needed: when MBS items change, when state prescribing rules change, when the DSM is revised, when new medication information warrants an update. All updates during the licence period are included.
